This is a makeup look that is quite literally out of this world. Think slicked back hair with a dewy complexion, strong brows, strong eyes and lots of shimmer. Here’s what you need to know to pull-off the cosmic makeup trend:

Whether your metallic of choice is a warm yellow-gold or a cool edgy silver, the cosmic look wouldn’t be cosmic without the iridescence of a metallic shadow.

If metallic eye shadow is a step too far, try a highlighter along the cheekbones for a subtle glow.

This look is about contrasts, from the eyes to the lips and cheeks the colours should pop.  With this in mind, go for a cheek colour that looks intentional.

A cool-toned icy pink will exaggerate the cheeks while a dusting of shimmer will help to soften and unify the look.

Channel your inner Ziggy Stardust with a strong helping of colour on the lids.

Let your metallic guide your colour choice.  For instance, a silver metallic would look amazing paired with blue-grey or purple shadows while a yellow-gold metallic would work beautifully with rich burnished brown or amber.

Frame your eyes with bold brows and don’t forget the liner and mascara.

A cosmic look would not be complete without a final dusting of highlighting shimmer to the cheeks, chin and forehead.

Go for a strong lip to finish, in an icy pink (cool toned) or persimmon (for warm tones) and add shine with a sweep of crystal gloss.
