HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! LOVE, NORTHLANDSLifestyle
07 February 2024
Valentine’s Day is one of those tricky days that can be really sweet and heartfelt or feel a bit artificial. I love giving (and, let’s be honest, receiving!) gifts, so for me, the key to making it special is to put your heart into whatever you give. What does that look like? Just a little time and effort to remember (or sleuth out!) the things your Love, loves.
Valentine’s Day gifts for her
Whether you’re buying for your Valentine, your Galentine or another gorgeous girl in your life, go for the luxe treats she loves but often won’t buy for herself. Level up her favourite fragrance with a matching body lotion, treat her hands or let her relax with a manicure or pedicure at Dash Beauty & Nails or ProfessioNail. If you’re planning flowers, think inside the box this time and create a bouquet of trending Lego blooms that will last all year. Still looking? As well as the usual suspects, think about choosing a book from her favourite author or even a special edition of one she loves (look for the most battered book on the shelf) and put a modern spin on the retro mixtape with a personalised playlist on your favourite platform.
Here are just a few of my favourite finds from Northlands.
Valentine’s Day gifts for him
From the advertising, you’d think that Valentine’s Day was all about the girls. But it takes two to tango baby, so don’t forget to spoil the special man in your life this February 14th. Again, it’s about spotting the things he’d love – but doesn’t buy – or the little luxe touches that will remind him of you every day. Wallets and watches are classy, timeless gifts – or, if he’s a whiskey or gin drinker, engrave a good quality glass to present with his favourite bottle. Show your love by knowing and supporting his passions with gifts from gaming to sporting a fantastic, thoughtful choice. Or, choose a new fragrance for him – a gift that will spoil you both! Here are some more ideas from Northlands.
Of course, the best present is you, so don’t forget to plan a V-day date! I recommend a chilled night in, pick up your supplies and cheeky bottle of wine from Countdown and chill out with your favourite streaming service. Happy Valentine’s Day!
